Installing a CallManager 5.x in a VMWare Server

Has anybody installed a Callmanager 5.x in VMWare server Lab?

What virtual machine specifications must I configure at VMWare?

What version could I use?

Actually, we are using VMWare server 1.0.2 in our test environment, could I use the same version?

Regards,

VMWare server or workstation will work.

Setup the OS as Linux Redhat Enterprise 3.

Make sure to specify 2 GB of RAM for the install and setup drive size to 72GB.

HTH,

Chris

I was able to install CCM 5.0.1, however I can't get to the ccmadmin page. Is there something that I'm missing? I've gone over the install and admin guide and have not seen anything I've missed during install. I can see the server as online, I can ping other devices, but I can't bring up the admin page.

Thank you,

david

I am at this same point. Ver 5.0.1 installed without a problem and I can get into the CLI, but not the GUI.

I have tried http://x.x.x.x:8080/ccmadmin and http://x.x.x.x:8443/ccmadmin, and several other combinations. No luck.

Any ideas?

Hi Jeff,

Can you try;

https://server-name/cmplatform

where server-name is the host name or IP address of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server.

or,

https:///iptplatform

Hope this helps!

Rob

I recommend you guys find the 5.1.1 ISO and install CCM in VMWare through that. The install is painless, however getting a license is not as easy. :( Still trying to find one.

Good luck.

Upgrade to CallManager 6.0/6.1 If no license is installed, you get one server license and 50 DLUs.

Specify 2GB RAM and 72GB hard disk in Vmware setup. Choose don't allocate all disk space now in order to save physical hard drive space.

I haven't tried specifying a lower RAM amount during the install. After the install, you CAN specify 1GB to make room for your other VMs to run.

VMware workstation has a "swap some VM memory to disk" setting which is default. Works a lot faster if you specify "don't swap any VM memory to hard disk.) You have to have the physical RAM to do this though.

If you don't have UCSS in order to upgrade your CCM5.x then....
