Intercom Setup, need assistance

I’ve not setup an Intercom using CUCM.

It seems there are at least a couple of ways.

I see two different approaches in our environment (that I’ve inherited, with no documentation)

One uses 1 intercom button and then has the user enter a code for the person they want to intercom with.

The other has the person’s extension programmed into the intercom button. In this scenario, the user has to have a button for each person they want to intercom with.

Can anyone point me to instructions for setting up both of these scenarios?
