intermittent audio issue (complete silence) when using wifi voip phones
Users with wifi phones (cisco 7921) are reporting intermittent one way or 2 way audio issues where either one couldn't hear the other or they couldn't hear each other.
No one has been able to reproduce the issue, and we have no issues with corded (eg. cisco 7945) phones.
Most of the times if works if user just call the same person again or if the receiver calls the caller back.
I am not seeing any interference on the spectrum anaylzer at the time the calls were taking place.
According to Cisco Prime Infrastructure, the wifi phone has just re-associated with the same access point but using a different protocol (it was using 802.11g and re-associated to use 802.11a or vice versa). This happens to all the problem calls I looked into, and the re-association happens within 1 minute of the problem call start or end time.
Any idea on what might be causing this audio issue?
