Can anyone interpret the above parameters. I am just a novice with IP Telephony. How will the gateway process the parameters? How to know if its inbound or outbound? Is it from top to bottom process, meaning from first dial-peer to the end? thanks

Re: Interpret

200 voip sends everything from 7XXX to 10.12.0.2 first then to 10.12.0.3. This is done using the preference command under dial-peers having the same destination pattern. preference order is from highest, 1-10. It also marks the H323 signaling traffic to CS3. I would need to see more config t break down any further.

Dial-peer 310 pots is like a frankenstein peer. I would need to see more config before I would tell you, however it might launch server session )looks under application config for this service file when any number starting with a 21 is dialed. Feel free to paste more config...

Thanks!

Re: Interpret

what "destination-pattern 21T" means. How will I know that a particular dial-peer is an inbound or outbound process?

Begin from here:

When you're assigned voip duties you need to study the cisco documentation, there is no way around that.

might be a good idea if you read the CVOICE and GW&GK material because as Paolo mentioned, the only way to learn is to study, and most of all self-study.

after you read all the provided material you will understand what those dial-peers do
