Cisco employees in San Jose, California will have to wait a few months more before their call processing is handled by Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0. Cisco IT is still working with IPCBU engineering to test specific features and applications needed for supporting Cisco's largest site, the San Jose headquarters campus. After final testing Cisco IT plans to deploy this in San Jose in the next few months. The San Jose cluster supports over 24,700 IP Phones and **6,300 IP Communicator** application endpoints.
"Meanwhile, Cisco IPCBU engineers will continue to work with Cisco IT to help test future versions of Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0 code," says Mike Canderlaria, IPCBU Engineering manager. "We want to use our latest technology in all of our 260+ Cisco locations around the globe. With over 70,000 IP Phones and 25,000 IP Communicator application endpoints in our enterprise-and growing-Cisco IT is certainly one of the largest IP telephony consumers in the world.
