I support several remote users, all with laptops running Cisco IP Communicator. About 1 in 5 has it working reliably. They all run Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on identical Dell laptops. I have run through the audio tuning, turned 'Optimize for low bandwidth' on and off, run it as admin, nothing makes any difference, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. One day it will work fine, the next, nothing. Usually it's the audio on one end or the other dropping out, but sometimes it won't even connect, just hangs on 'connecting'. Does anyone have a setup that works every time? Does it need to be run under an administrator account? Does it need to have a specific sound card or NIC with a particular driver version?

And which exact CIPC version are you using ?

8.6.2 but it's been the same on at least the last 3 versions, which is as far back as we've been using it
