Ip phone not working

Hello,

i tried to reset two of my cisco ip phone 7961 to factory default.

i tried 123456789*0# the phones went to upgrading mode and sat there for a while then i tried 3491672850*# now nothing happen just a blank screen. Any idea how to make them work ?

once you do the factory default you need to make sure it gets the ip address from DHCP.

in ur case it looks like it is trying to upgrade but fails to do so.

check the firmware on the phone and what it is trying to do.....if you are upgrading from  any version before 8.3.2 to 9.X, than you need to perform bridge upgrade.

as per release notes

If  you are currently running firmware 6.0(2) to 7.0(2) on a  Cisco Unified IP Phone and want to upgrade to 8.x(x), you can do so  directly. However, expect the upgrade to take twice as long as usual.

so let it upgrade and wait!!
