Hi,
My customer is running ccm 3.3 and 7940 ip-phone for China, Vietnam and more offices.
They are running more than 100 ip-phones in the Beijing office.
The Beijing users claim that many 7940s reboot during the business hours some times an week.
I suspect that the power is unstable for the office and I would like to prove it.
What kind of message is supposed to be logged for the PoE switch(Cat3550) or CCM when they have power problem?

For starters you could do a "show ver" on the 3550 to show the uptime. This would determine if the switch is losing power and reloading.

You might want to check the CCM Application Log. When the phone unregisters it should log a message with a Reason Code. It will tell you if it's a Device Initiated Reset a CCM reset or a Network connectivity issue.

Hope this helps :)
