The DHCP service has been given the new ip address and the phones are not pciking up the Ip address.

What should I do.

Where is the DHCP service running (on/off box). Presume you've configured the IP Address range, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and Option 150.

On your switches, have you configured an IP-Helper address on your Voice VLAN?

Re: IP Phones not picking up new ip addresses

The old DHCP server died and we configured a new server with new address but the phone doesn't pick up the ip address.

The phone has been rebooted as well but no luck.

Have you activated the new DHCP scope? Sorry, have to ask. Might also be worth manually releasing the old IP address from the IP Phone.

Press the settings button on the IP Phone, go to option 2 (Network Configuration). Scroll down to DHCP Address Released and type in **# on the phone. This should then give you the option to release the ip address. Reboot the phone, change this option back again and hopefully it'll pick up a new IP Address from your server.

Configuring DHCP on a windows server

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00800942f4.shtml

Right click your new scope and click activate.
