IP Telephony: Upgrading CallManager 3.3(4) to CUCM 5.1(3)

Hi experts, i have a client with running with CallManager 3.3(4) version and they bought two new servers 7835-H2 and need to migrate the data in the existing 3.3(4) server to the new ones.

If someone could please tell me the best way to perform this task, as i have tried installing the new server with the 3.3(4) Version and sucessfully uploading the database via BARS to the new servers, and then tried (in two different ocassions) to upgrade to the version 3.3(5) and 4.1(3) but somehow all the device pools, all phones, are missing.

I really appreciate for the information regarding to do this whole procedure.

For 3.X to 4.X you need CD with upgrade option.

Restore only work for CCM same version

If you have existing servers you may backup 3.3(4) then upgrade the old servers to latest CCM 3.X (3.3(5)) then BARS backup

In new ones install 3.3(5) and restore then upgrade

Some new servers have problems recognizin old CCM versions

If you can upgrade old servers to latest 4.1(3) that will be great.

BARS first and makes ure you have all media in place DVD for OS and CCM CDs!
