Is it possible to connect CCM 4.1.3 to a SIP gateway without proxy-server ?

Hi,

We have a call manager 4.1.3 with sccp ip phones.

We have also a SIP gateway (AudioCodes Media 2000) that connects our lab to the PSTN.

We created a SIP trunk between the CCM and the SIP Gateway, but we didn't manage to have people from the PSTN calling the SCCP IP phones (we have a "SIP 404 Not Found" response from the ccm.)

Calling from the IP Phones to the PSTN is working fine.

So i'd like to know if for this kind of scenarii (with ccm 4.1.3) a sip proxy-server is mandatory between the CCM and the SIP gateway.

Thanks in advance.

A SIP proxy is not needed.

Some things to check:

1) Look at the Request-URI of the SIP INVITE being sent. Verify the user portion (ie. the number) is a DN.

2) Look at the Inbound call settings of the SIP trunk. Verify that the CSS contains the DNs

3) Look at the SIP Trunk. The SIP trunk needs to be identified by IP address for inbound. If you used a FQDN, change to an IP address.
