Is it possible to monitor active calls in CUCM?

Hi!

We've got CUCM 5.1 installation. Currently we have a lot of remote locations and we are using distributed model with centralized call processing. From time to time we need to know, how many calls makes each location at a current moment. Is there any tool, that gives me possibility to see active lines in the cluster, based on device pool or partition or something else? I have searched through Serviceability AXL documentation, but found nothing suitable for my task.

TIA!

Hi,

You can easily view server information (such as active calls, registered phones, and memory usage) of the Cisco CallManager cluster, using the RTMT window.

Thank you for the answer, Payal, but RTMT in not exactly what I need. Using RTMT I can see only overall count of calls in my cluster, but I need to know detailed information. Will try to explain. I have CUCM cluster in central office and several remote locations. Each remote location has number of phones. At any given moment I need to know how many calls are active at any given location and DNs of the active phones.

Hi,

Using the RTMT, we can monitor the

Gateway Activity—You can monitor gateway activity for each gateway type. Gateway activity monitoring includes the number of active ports, the number of ports in service, and the number of calls that were completed for each gateway type for a particular Cisco Unified Communications Manager node or for the entire cluster.

You can refer to the following link for further information.

Is this of any help?

GW activity gives me information only about external calls, but I need to know about all calls, including calls inside location and between locations.

Unfortunately we do not offer a solution within CUCM or RTMT for what you're looking for, all the counters you can get from RTMT are global and cannnot be filtered by location, partition, etc. Not sure if something like CUOM or some other 3rd party would be able to get this.

Ive been looking for the same type of thing.  The Unity Port statuys monitor is a good example of a real live call monitor.  I just wish it monitored all calls.  Funny how Cisco uses a paragraph to say "no".

It seems you are looking for some type of erlang report which is usually derived via some sort of CDR if it be internal or external in an historical sense

I am only new to CISCO with a long history of Avaya, Nortel, NEC etc… which all have the ability in both historical and real time but not sure about CISCO.

Have you tried looking under the “System Reports>Traffic” in the CDR section?

As others have said, none that I know of based on partition or device pool.  RTMT works great but your CUBE or gateway can also provide current calls being processed as well by issuing a "show call active voice compact"  this can show you the codec, ANS/ORG how long the call has been going on and the IP addresses of the TO and FROM.  Best I can offer here...
