Is PVDM mandatory for 3-way Conference?

We have two cisco routers one with PVDM and CME 4.0 other without. Is conference possible.

CME does not utilize PVDMs for conferencing, it mixes the streams via software conferencing bridging, hence you can only have 3 participants per conference.

cderen, i have a question. 3 participants per conference is that the software limitation?

i have 4 FXO port on my ISR2821, using CCME 4.1. My requirement would be 4 external call from PSTN calling in, for a 5 person conference. When we are in a 3 party conference and we tried to dial a 4th party(PSTN), the call is disconnected

What would i need to accomplish that? i tried configuring DSP..but im getting no where with that. Plz advise
