Hi,

I have the following setup, both routers are Cisco 2811, I am trying to simulate PSTN on one routerB running CME and routerA is an MGCP GW controller by CUCM5. When placing a call from RouterA to RouterB the call goes through fine but when a call is placed from Router B to routerA the call doesn't go through, basically as soon as I dial the number the phone hangs up. I have done debug isdn q931 and getting the disconnect message not sure why.

Hi,

In your config, there is no dial-peer for the called number 4085551001

What you have is this..

dial-peer voice 140855510 pots

description To SJC

destination-pattern 14085551...

incoming called-number .

direct-inward-dial

port 0/1/0:15

forward-digits 10

You are dialing 408555.... but you have 1408 in your dial-peer

If you intedn using your Voice xlation rule to strip the 1 then it is notproperly configured.

You have applied the direction as incoming while this is an outgoing call.

why dont you just use somehting like rule 2 /^1/ // and then apply the rule in the outgoing direction

Please ignore the translation and I have removed it, the correct digits forwarded is taken care of by the forward-digits 10 which I have changed it to 11 to send the full number 140855501001. But the call still doesn't go through.

I don't remember what it is but there is something specific when the phone hangs up the call as soon as a number is dialed.

Sorry, I missed the forward-digits 10.

Ok so the called number is now 140855501001.

On your MGCP gateway in CCM, how many digits do you have as your significant digits. And what is the extension number of the Phone you are calling.

Also Do you have any CSS on the gateway and does this CSS have access to the PT of the IP phone

Hi aokanlawon,

Thanks for your help, It's all good now.

The first issue was with the Gateway downloading it's config form the CCM and it wasn't reflecting the PSTN end, and I have turned it off now.

The second issue was with the significant digits as you have mentioned above, for whatever reason I though I had set it to four but it was set to 0, my extension are four digits.

Cheers
