Hey guys,
We are currently experimenting with LDAP integration in our CM 7.1 test lab..
From reading the documentation, it appears that Application Users are left untouched during the LDAP sync process.
We will be migrating from CM 4.1 to 7.1 and have a number of applications which were created in the 4.1 world and have CTI links to CM.. It does not appear that CM4.1 defined end users and applications users, therefore during the DMA process, these were all carried over and populated into the End User list in our CM7.1 test lab..
Is there anyway End Users can be reclassed as Application Users in CM7.1 so that these remain untouched when we come to syncronise.. Although not a problem, we are trying to avoid creating these as new accounts in AD so that we dont lose them.
The other option is to recreate these accounts again as Application users, however this will be time consuming due to the hundreds of associated devices !!..
Any advice would be appreicated..
Many thanks.
Jon.

Thanks for this Aaron.. Its going to take a bit of cutting and pasting and juggling of CTI permission between the users accounts but I think this is what I need..
Cheers
Jon.

Good link for Aaron.
Just an FYI, this gets a lot of engineers. If you create an Application user account such as "jdoe", CUCM will *not* import an LDAP account "jdoe". CUCM will consider this a duplicate and skip it on the LDAP pull.
When you create your App users, use a different format for the user ID.
Cheers!
