Localization not working properly on CME 4.1

Hello,

We've problems with IT localization on 7961G and 7911G phones.

We're using CME version 4.1 with IOS 12.4(11)XJ.

We've downloaded the latest version of firmware (CME4.1-8.2(1) - Phone Loads with DST Fix) and the latest IT localization available (CME-locale-it_IT-4.0.2-2.0.tar).

Then we've uploaded the file in the router and added the necessary configuration lines:

tftp-server flash:/it-mk-sccp.jar alias Italian_Italy/mk-sccp.jar

tftp-server flash:/it-mk-sccp.jar alias Italian_Italy/tc-sccp.jar

tftp-server flash:/g3-tones.xml alias Italy/g3-tones.xml

and obviously, the "network-locale IT" and "user-locale" commands too.

With this configuration, text displays are correctly shown in Italian language, but the tones and cadences are still wrong.

We've tried to upload different localizations of the g3-tones.xml file, but in all the tests the US tones and cadences are used.

Any ideas?

Maybe the file g3-tones.xml is not compatible with 4.1 CME version?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Marco, I have not tried that firmware yes as I've heard that phone firmarew 8.2(2) is due soon. You could be fine with 8.0(4)SR3A.

Now, I don't think this is the problem, but you have:

tftp-server flash:/it-mk-sccp.jar alias Italian_Italy/tc-sccp.jar

should be:

tftp-server flash:/it-tc-sccp.jar alias Italian_Italy/tc-sccp.jar

Hello,

The string

tftp-server flash:/it-mk-sccp.jar alias Italian_Italy/tc-sccp.jar

was a mistype, in the config is correct.

I have tried the 8.0(4)SR firmware also, but nothing changed.

Are you using the IT localization too?

Can I ask you if the free line tone is like the Italian style in your enviroment?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Marco,

I've checked on a 7941 w/ 8.0(4)SR3AS, 7931 and 7970 w/ 8.2(1)S, in all cases the secondary dialtone is correct for IT. Running 12.4(11)XJ1.

Ciao Alessandro,

With "secondary-dialtone 0" the italian tone is correctly presented after pressing 0.

But with internal calls (not starting with 0) the tone is always US.

This is correct?

Thanks.

Hi Marco,

actually for internal calls, that is anything not starting with 0, there should be no secondary dial-tone.

If you are referring to the continuous tone you get before entering the first digit, it is correct that is "like the US", it signifies it's PBX dialtone and not PSTN.

Thanks to all.

Marco.
