Mapping 1-800's to DiD's

We recently converted to CUCM 8.6 from a PBX solution. With the old system we had 1-800 numbers registered to internal DiD's, but since the conversion when we call the 1-800 number it no longer rings the internal DiD. Would we need to get the Telco involved? Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Are you using the exact same DID numbers? Toll  Free 1-800, 1-888 etc are usually translated

by the Telco so you won't  see  anything in CUCM. If you needed to change where the 1-800 terms

you would  need to contact the Telco provider. If you are using the same numbers perhaps the

number of digits the telco is sending  does not match your dialplan after the migration.

To add to Rob's response, perhaps the toll-frees are coming in with their own DNIS numbers and they are not switched to DIDs in which case you will need to translate them to internal extensions, the easiest way to do this would be to build translation patterns in CUCM.

You can check what digits you are getting with "debug isdn q931" on the GW assuming you are using PRI circuits.
