How can I find the status of my operating system (Windows 2000 and CallManager 4.1.3) so that I can properly update to the latest version? I also do not want to cause problems by applying updates and patchs that are wrong or overlap. Also, Is it wise to update a Unified Communications Server or other system if there are no problems?

You can find the current OS/SR by clicking Start > Cisco OS Version. I believe it is wise to keep up with the latest patches/SRs even if you are not havig problems. Take a look at the following post regarding patching CCM/Unity.
