MCS7816 for clustering over the WAN

Hi everyone!

According to the SRND I understand MCS7816 should be only used for 1:1 redundancy deployments. If I'm not mistaken, I also understand we can't mix these servers with other server models like 7825 or 7835. I'm wondering if it could be possible to use this kind of servers for clustering over the WAN?

If it is possible, could I mix this 7816 servers with some other models (like 7825) on remote locations?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Daniel,

You are most correct my friend :) The MCS-7816 would not be supported in this type of design model. You can mix/match server models in the cluster design but the 7816 is made only for the 1:1 configuration you referenced.

Hope this helps!
