Mediasense v.s. Desktop recording

Hello - what is the difference between mediasense recording and desktop recording?

My customer requires voice recording only for all calls that are handed to agents.

Customer is using UCCX v9 and QM v9

Also for SQL, the customer has 120 agents and again is looking for voice recording only, can they use SQL 2008 express?
