MeetingPLace 6.x Port question

Hi,

I have 54 conf ports. I want to configure the system to do this:

11 conf ports

1 overbook port

1 contingenct port

41 floater ports

The reaon I want to try this is to have everyone schedule max 1 port and use the floating ports as needed.

The problem i have is when I configure the number of floting ports higher than conf ports I get an error when scheduleing a meeting. It says there are no ports available to schedule the meeting.

Any ideas if I can do this?

Thanks,

Randall

Hi Randall,

My understanding of this is that Floater Ports are used in relation to "Reservationless" Meetings and Overbook Ports are used in relation to "Scheduled" meetings. So for your config I would think you need to re-assign the Floater Ports as Overbook Ports instead :)

Remember the following information:

•Make sure the total number of scheduling ports available (including overbook ports) is equal to or greater than the largest meeting size you expect to schedule.

•Reservationless meetings are best served by a small starting meeting size and a larger floater pool, with little or no overbooking

•With scheduled meetings it is best to set the default meeting size to the average (which is typically about 5), and use overbooking to compensate for no-shows and cases where reservations are higher than actual usage.

Hope this helps!
