mgcp config server

folks,

when configuring the gateway with mgcp, what information gets downloaded to the gateway in xml file, is it the dialplan?

if i do not use the command "mgcp config server" would i have to reset the gateway by issuing "no mgcp" ,"mgcp" command, what will this do?

Re: mgcp config server

Take a look at this link, you will get a good explanation on MGCP configuration

Re: mgcp config server

most of the configuration that gets downloaded is in reference to dial-peers for the interfaces so they are created with application mgcpapp

if you do not issue mgcp config server you will need to to the whole configuration manually on the GW

if you issue no mgcp / mgcp you shut the MGCP process running in the gateway which means won't listen to anything in ports 2427 and 2428, thus the gateway will show unregistered until you issue the MGCP command again

that is mostly used when you have registration issues between CCM and GWs
