MGCP GW configuration with PLAR and DID requirements

Dear Pros,

I am trying to setup Cisco 2821 routers as MGCP GWs and need the following services on it -

1. Connection PLAR

2. DID

For first one, the port is Digital E1 and in CCM configuration its not showing attendant number field. (which is connection plar number field).

Is there any way I can configure connection plar on this MGCP GW as I want all incoming calls on this digital PRI to be forwarded to a CTI route point.

For second thing is there any special configuration required on router for direct inward dial or CCM.

My config is as below. Please advise.

Re: MGCP GW configuration with PLAR and DID requirements

Pratik,

For the first scenario, create a translation pattern in CCM that matches incoming calls and translate to the DN of the route point. For DID, if your DID range corresponds to your internal extensions, you can set the significant digits on the gateway in CCM. So, if your DID range is 2223334XXX and your internal DNs are 4XXX, you could set the significant digits to 4. If this is not the case, you will need to create a translation pattern that translates the DID to the internal DN such as a pattern that translates 2223334XXX to 56XX.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Re: MGCP GW configuration with PLAR and DID requirements

Thanks for your reply Brandon. So you mean to say on the router I do not need to put direct-inward-dial commands ?

Also, how can I find out the DNIS coming from router as when I run debug isdn q931, I do not get any outputs ?

Re: MGCP GW configuration with PLAR and DID requirements

You do not need the direct-inward-dial command as you do with H.323. You are not seeing output for the q931 debug because this traffic is backhauled to CCM when using MGCP. I'm not aware of any way to see the called number from the gateway.
