MGCP & SRST Issue

Hi all,

I have an 1861 router configured to use MGCP & SRST for failover.

I am using 1 FXO ports which is connected to an analogue line from the local BT exchange.

I am using 2 FXS ports connected to 2 analogue telephones.

Problem 1

Within the call-manager configuration I am pointing the FXO port to exten 4002 (FXS 1) so I was expecting this to work via MGCP.

However, when I dial in via the FXO port the router answers the call & provides internal dial tone back (like a DISA line).

How do I point the FXO port 0/10 to ring the extension 4002 on FXS 0/0/0?

Problem 2

When I dial between the FXS ports the router seems to use the dial peers which I have configured for SRST failover rather than look to the call manager via MGCP.

Thanks

Call Manager Ver - 6.1.2.1000-13

SRST Router - Cisco 1861 12.4 (11)

MGCP Ver - 1.0

Re: MGCP & SRST Issue

please provide the sh run from the 1861

you might be lacking the dial-peers for the ports with

application mgcp app

do they show up as registered in CUCM??

Re: MGCP & SRST Issue

Try adding this

voice-port 0/1/0

connection plar 4002

That will stop the secondary dialtone when you call the number associated w/the FXO port.

Hope that helped.

Re: MGCP & SRST Issue

The info above is good from Ken ...5 pts for you! But if you dont always want it to go to that extension and want to maintain your DID capabilities use the command "direct-inward dial" under your FXO pots dial peer.

Re: MGCP & SRST Issue

if this is not a typo in your original post:

MGCP Ver - 1.0

then the issue is that Cisco supports version 0.1

i just noticed that info in your post, all the example guides show that you should use version 0.1

How to Configure MGCP with Digital PRI and Cisco CallManager

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk1077/technologies_configuration_example09186a00801ad22f.shtml

mgcp call-agent 172.16.240.124 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1

Re: MGCP & SRST Issue

I will change back to MGCP ver 0.1 & let you know.

I have already tried the PLAR and PLAR OPX configuration in conjunction with the FXO port but the problem I found was that when I answered the call on the FXS port I could then hear the DTMF tones for 4002??

Thanks for your help.
