I am having problems getting a MGCP gateway to register with CCM (vers7.1.2).
This is down to the network using VRF and the route to the CCM not being found.
I have seen on some old discussions regarding MGCP not being VRF aware, is this still the case ?
If so is there anyway round this problem ?? Still using MGCP.
Many thanks

Yes, still the same. There is an enhancement on that
CSCsg30782
VRF aware for Backhaul-session-manager BSM and MGCP
We do not have any WA with MGCP, we only suppurt VRF with H323 or SCCP

Is there any plans to make MGCP vrf aware.
Or are there major technical issues to prevent this.

I already posted the bug that tracks that enhancement request, no ETA for it.
You can reach your Cisco AM and let them know you're also interested on this so the BU knows there is interest on the feature.

Billy,
I had a deployment a few months ago where we were running MGCP on our WAN edge devices and running VRF. What we needed to do is put the voice network(s) in the "native" routing instance and move everything else to vrf routing instances.
Since vrf is local to the box and no router outside of the voice gateway was aware of the particulars around the local vrf instances, we were able to achieve the same degree of separation. In essence, we solved the same requirements with a different configuration approach.
Now this wouldn't be the case if you were running mpls-vpn and the voice gateway was responsible for pushing or popping labels.
Anyway, just a thought.
Regards,
Bill
