I have a client with 900 nodes moving toward Cisco IPT. They currently have Microsoft Active Directory Infrastructure.
What be the best option for Cisco IPT Servers? Would it be beneficial to install IPT servers in a same domain within AD or Voice Servers should be in their own domain.
Can I integrate the Call Manager to Active Directory to avoid seperate username/password for IP Phone users if Voice Servers are placed in a seperate domain or do they have to be in a same AD domain for successful integration.
What are the advantages and disadvantages if Voice Server are in the same domain where the data infrastructure resides or vice versa.
Cisco always recommends to aviod adding a CallManager to a Domain as the domain security policies could break the system. Though, you can integrate CallManager to the domain and use the same login's as being used. Please check the following links for more information regarding the same:
