We have CUCM-BE 7.x working & we want to have the mobile communicator enabled, so can I use the same CUCM-BE hardware & only purchase the mobility advantage server software & mobile communicator client software...

Hi Vijay,
You need to invest on one MCS server to install Mobility Advantage. It can not be installed on CUCM-BE.
Additionally, you need to have ASA Phone Proxy.

Hi Sushil,
Thanks for the reply...
We actually wanted to integrate the blackberry & nokia phones to our CUCM, so is the mobile communicator a right choice? or is there something better??

Hi Vijay,
Yes you need Mobile Communicator for this.
Following are the components required -
1) Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage - to be installed on a separate MCS Server
2) ASA Phone Proxy - ASA box with phone proxy licenses.
3) Mobile Communicator clients for BB and Nokia.

Sushil, thanks for the clarification...
But still one more doubt, do I need this "Nokia Intellisync PBX Connect for CCM (SCCP Client)" too? if not in what case would this be used??

Vijay,
Thats required if you want to use the dual mode functionality on Nokia.
Nokia can act as a wireless client and calls can be placed through your corporate Wireless Network. Once you go out of the reach of wireless network calls will be moved to GSM.
Intellisync client provides you this functionality.
Although it can corecide with Mobile Communicator.
