Mobile Voice Access with MGCP Problem

Hello,

A customer has a CUCM 7.1.5 and 2911 VG with PRI line. It works excellent with MGCP.

I was asked to enable Mobile Voice Access. I 've made all the appropriate configuration but it doesn't work.

On the debug isdn q931 I get the Unallocated/unassigned number message.

The call flow is:

-The provider send me 3 digits

-I send them on the CUCM where I have configured 2 Gateways. The mgcp that used to work and a new H323 (with the IP address of gig0/0 of the mgcp)

-On both gateways I put a prefix "1" because all the internal number are 1XXX

The mva number is "1400".

I have configured 2 dial-peers:

dial-peer voice 44 voip

service mva

session target ipv4:xxxxxxxxxxx

incoming called-number 400

codec g711ulaw

!

dial-peer voice 45 voip

destination-pattern 400

session target ipv4:xxxxxxxxxxx

codec g711ulaw

!

I remember that I had configured mobile voice access with mgcp to a customer with BRI lines and was working fine.

I don't know what is going on here.

All CSS and Partitions are configured correctly.

It seems like the call is "captured" first by the mgcp.... I don't know..

Any ideas?

Could you show all of the dial-peers from the router?

Also, include a 'debug isdn q931'

These are all the dial-peers. I don't think I need more.

Hi,

Reading about this.

Your call comes in to the CUCM because the PRI is backhauled via the MGCP.

You will need to hairpin it back to the H323 gateway part of the router.

If you build a translation pattern that the I/C MGCP gateway can access then tranform the called digits back to 400

Build a route pattern and point at the H323 gateway.

PSTN ---> PRI--> MGCP--> CUCM ---> H323 GWAY --->MVA APP

Was you able to solve your loop issue

I have MVA with MGCP and I'm testing by calling from internal IP Phone and enter the destination number and PIN then entering the required number to reach then #

Then I hear the welcome message again ?

I tried internal and external numbers for the number to reach but with the same result

Did you figure out what is the issue for this loop

Gateways and Ports

Only H.323 gateways get supported for Mobile Voice Access.

Mobile Connect features do not get supported for T1 CAS, FXO, FXS and  BRI.

Do you have 2 separate T1s/E1s???

One for MGCP and one for H323???

When you configure the timeslots you bind that to either MGCP or leave it for H323/SIP. You cannot have a mix of MGCP and something else on same pri-group.

Hello and thanks for the replies.

I had made this work on my lab. The only difference was that I used BRI line.. but it was also controlled by mgcp.

On the customer's gw there are some BRIs but are with mgcp too

I made this work on my lab..

Well, not exactly...

I listen the "Welcome" message.

I enter my remote destination number..

I press my pin

I press "1" in order to make a call

It prompts me to press the number I want to call

I press the number

But after the "#", I listen again the first "Welcome" message

Afterwards even if I press again my remote destination number nothing happens.. and after a while, the line drops

All the critical problems were solved.. MVA and mobility works fine.

But I have a final issue..

Because of the trick with the route pattern, the system recognizes the "1400" as a remote destination number and not my mobile were I have confiured.

So the user has to enter its remote destination number every time..

Can we avoid this? Is there a way to make the system recognize the very first calling number (etc my mobile) and prompt immediately to press my pin?

First of all i have to mention that I have created Dial Rules and and I put the prefix "9" in all incoming calls.

I did that because I don't want to put "9" on missed callls...

Here is a very strange problem.

When I put as a remote destination my mobile 6944123456, on the debug voice ccapi inout I see as cisco-username the 96944123456. Of course it doesn't match with my mobile and it asks me to "enter my remote dest number..."

When I put as a remote destination my mobile in that way: 96944123456, on the debug I see as cisco-username the DN 1381 which the Line DN I have associated with my remote destination profile!!! Of course it doesn't match..

It is very weird, right??

Things are going good now..

But I have a final (i hope) problem.

I press "1" to make a call, I press the number I want to call (internal or external) and I hear the message "your call cannot be completed as dialed"..

What I have to check? Is it a CSS problem??

When I change the css of the H323 gateway (incoming css) I have a diferrent behaviour.

I listen again the Welcome message.

But it used to work,..
