CUCM System version: 9.1.1.21019-1
I uploaded a new Wav file as an announcement under the welcome greeting sample folder and now this opening file is playing when anyone in our system puts someone on hold.
All I did was upload this file. I can not seem to remove or delete that file either. I am wondering how or why this file seemed to attach itself to the begining of our MOH.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Good to hear you are getting somewhere
It may be that you are hitting this bug for the periodic timer;
Make MOH so caller does not hear repeat ann immediately after greeting
Symptom:
Callers hear initial announcement then immediately hear periodic announcement regardless of periodic timer
Conditions:
Native Call Queuing
Workaround:
none
Cheers!

Hi Kevin,
Is this set?
"Initial Announcement Played" set to 'Only for queued calls.'
Cheers!

Hi Kevin,
What happens if you disable your new "Custom" announcement?
Cheers!

I might look at this bug as well;
Cannont delete custom announcements
Symptom:
There is no option to delete a custom announcement
Conditions:
CallManger 9.1
Custom announcements that are being used do not have an option to delete.
Workaround:
You can't delete a custom announcement that is in use. Disassociate the announcement from any Music On Hold Audio Servers and then you will be able to delete.

Right now I am looking at restarting call manager as from everything I have been reading and from your input My thought is that call manager is stuck in this mode where it thinks it has to play that announcement first. I did change the service parameter to MOH source #2 and the MOH works fine. We have all our phones MOH settings default to none so it reverts back to the global service parameter setting .when I change it back to source #1 it acts up again. All the settings on source #1 and #2 match.
Thanks

Just a FYI,
Restarted call manager 1 services last night and checked it this morning when I got to work and still had the same problem. decided to restart the calmmanager services on the other 3 servers we have running and the problem went away.
Thanks for all replies and thoughts on this. Now I am back to trying to make the Que work in my hunt pilot. That is what started this mess in the first place.
I can get the initial announcement to play but the periodic announcement never kicks in.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the update (+5 )
Just curious, if you listen to the Initial Announcement all the way through
is the Periodic played immediately after ignoring the timers?
Cheers!

OK,
Here is the latest, I think I must have a problem with the file I loaded as the periodic announcement as I can set one of the other canned announcements in there and it starts playing and yes Rob I did notice that it played the initial announcement and then right away played the periodic and then just the periodic at the correct timer setting.

Custom announcements are stored in:
cm/tftpdata/CustomAnn/english_united_states/*
You cen delete them through CLI or tftp file mgmnt.
There needs to be an enhancement to manage these files IMHO
