MOH Questions

Have a few questions regarding MOH.

1) If the volume of the MOH that comes with CM 5.1 is too loud is there any way to reduce that? It appears the way to reduce a new upload is to adjust the MTP DTMF Power (Volume) setting in services. Correct?

2) What do other people do for MOH - Right now I have the std out of the box settings. Are there good sites to get different options for music on hold?

3) Local readio stations - is it ok to use radio stations for music on hold (legal?). How do you connect them?

Thanks Again!

Chris

Hi Chris,

1. From Allan;

http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Unified%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=IP%20Telephony&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.2cbedac3/0#selected_message

2. Check out www.musicbakery.com for royalty free music or MUZAK (http://music.muzak.com/) to create music selections where all Royalties have been paid.

3. It is Illegal to play a Radio Station or Cd -Jukebox for MOH due to the Licening issues for Artists/Producers/Writers etc :)

Here is how you would connect - Fixed Music On Hold Audio Source Configuration

The music on hold server supports one fixed-device stream source in addition to the file stream sources. This source represents the fixed audio source, which gets configured in the Fixed Music On Hold (MOH) Audio Source Configuration window. The fixed audio source gets sourced from a fixed device that uses the local computer audio driver.

For each cluster, you may define one fixed audio source. You must set up the fixed audio source that is configured per cluster on each MOH server. To do so, use the Cisco USB MOH sound adapter, which must be ordered separately.

Here is the config info;

Hope this helps!
