MPLS consideration for Intercluster Trunk

Hi All,

MPLS going to be turned on soon across the WAN for us ,what kind of impact will this have to the ICT between call managers? Then What will have to ensure internal on CCM/LAN and our ISP?

Best regards,

Andres

Re: MPLS consideration for Intercluster Trunk

Hello Andres,

with a good configuration there will be no impacts.

Aspects to be verified when activating MPLS service:

test MTU : verify if ip packets with MTU = 1500 Bytes and DF set can travel between the two sites

check QoS: verify that your provider allows the MPLS EXP bits to be a copy of the TOS bits, or if there is a DSCP byte to MPLS exp mapping. This is similar to QoS trust in LAN switches.

It is useful to provide better service to VoIP RTP streams (LLQ) and to signalling packets

Hope to help
