New POTS line at a location - Dial Peer Question

I have a H.323 Gateway setup at one of our locations that we are adding a new POTs line to.  The problem we are having is, we have only one line going into this location.  This line is for routing local calls and for customers to call into.  When there is someone already on the line and a customer calls in they're getting a busy signal.  We'd like the new line to be the first for routing local calls to try to free up the other line.  Below is my Dial Peer rule for the outgoing calls.  Do I just add a rule above it for Port 0/0/1?

Current Setup:

dial-peer voice 2 pots

destination-pattern 7[2-9].........

port 0/0/0

forward-digits 10

After we add a line?

dial-peer voice 2 pots

destination-pattern 7[2-9].........

port 0/0/1

forward-digits 10

dial-peer voice 3 pots

destination-pattern 7[2-9].........

port 0/0/0

forward-digits 10

Re: New POTS line at a location - Dial Peer Question

Hello, Ben.

You'll want to set preferences in order to have redundant dial-peers. By default dial-peers are preference 0.

dial-peer voice 2 pots

preference 2

destination-pattern 7[2-9].........

port 0/0/1

forward-digits 10

dial-peer voice 3 pots

description ***POTS - Primary Local Outbound****

preference 1

destination-pattern 7[2-9].........

port 0/0/0

forward-digits 10

I hope this helps. Thanks!
