NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 Not working

Hi all,

I just received a brand new 2811 with a NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 module to be connected to an E1 ISDN PRI interface.

However, the integrated E1 interface just can?t establish the ISDN framing with the PBX. I inserted a VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 into this module, configured the port and voila! the ISDN framing came up right away.

So... it seems the integrated port on the module is DOA, but since this is a new module to me I want to be sure I?m not missing something before requesting a RMA.

Am I missing something besides issuing the card type e1 command?

Thanks in advance

HI, can you check if the settings are the same for impedance and crc ?

Re: NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 Not working

Thanks for taking your time.

Yes, both are the same. All the config is exactly the same except for the port number. I use the cables to the PBX for both ports. The DSPs are ok and I can assign them to both cards.

Re: NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 Not working

Hi Carlos

T1/E1 cards need the IOS release 12.4.

You first must enable the of the card as E1 then I will be able to configure like a normal E1.

When you look the card is like totally dead but is not.

HERE SOME PART OF THE CAPTURE, when I worked with this kind of card.

version 12.4

Re: NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 Not working

Thank you Walter,

However, the configuration with the VWIC card is working, what I need is to know how to make it work with a single NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 without an extra VWIC card. This is the relevant configuration:

!

card type e1 1 0

card type e1 1 1

!

network-clock-participate slot 1

network-clock-select 1 E1 1/0

!

isdn switch-type primary-qsig

!

controller E1 1/0

framing NO-CRC4

pri-group timeslots 1-8,16

!

controller E1 1/0/0

framing NO-CRC4

pri-group timeslots 1-8,16

!

interface Serial1/0:15

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-qsig

isdn overlap-receiving

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn send-alerting

no cdp enable

!

interface Serial1/0/0:15

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-qsig

isdn overlap-receiving

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn send-alerting

no cdp enable

!

voice-port 1/0:15

cptone DE

timeouts interdigit 30

timeouts wait-release 3

!

voice-port 1/0/0:15

cptone DE

timeouts interdigit 30

timeouts wait-release 3

The controller E1 1/0/0 is the VWIC port, E1 1/0 is the integrated port. If I plug the PBX cable on the first one everything works great, when I change to the other one doesn't.

TIA.
