I have a 2621XM with a NM-2V and a VIC-2FXO. Any incoming or outgoing calls on 1 of the FXO ports always seems to have a hum or buzz in the background. I swapped the analog lines going into the FXO ports and the hum or buzz seems to follow the FXO port. I'm assuming it's a hardware problem? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks!!

Hi Mike,
It certainly sounds like a hardware issue. The "rule of thumb" for troubleshooting this type of problem has always been to do what you have done. Move the line, if the trouble follows the line, it's a noisy line. If the trouble stays with the port it's a probable hardware issue. The only other variables are, the line cords and perhaps, removing re-seating the module.
Take care,
Rob

I have a similar issue.
All FXO's have a hum, one of the lines has some static when talking only. checked the lines at the panel and test ok. changed FXO card and problem is still there.
what fixed your issue?

It was a bad card. I replaced the card and it was fine after that.
