Obtaining spare parts for Cisco phones

Is it possible to obtain spare parts for Cisco handsets ? We'd like to be able to purchase replacement hook-switch assemblies for the 794x/796x phones. (See attached picture for the part we're after)

Nice one Rob - you are the man. Crazy I can't seem to source these in the UK.

Richard

For a while we had a supplier who could source them. But that source dried up a couple of years ago. Instead of paying £20 to fix a 7941, we're now having to pay £100+ to replace it :-(

Interesting - shame the source has dried up. Maybe someone else will pick up the baton.

We have been sending phones back to Incomm Telecoms for "refurbishment". We get them back cleaned, on hook key repaired/replaced (I'd be miffed if all the do is unbend the spring) and they come back nicely shrink wrapped - all for £28.00 per unit.

We've had some issues with phones damaged in transit of late and so are thinking about re-visiting the D.I.Y route during quieter moments. Trying to get the pesky white silicone cover re-fixed can be a right mare though.

Hello Guys,

This button can be easily fixed.

All you have to do is to dismantle the phone, and clean the small white silicone cover.

Normally i rub the small black spot from the sillicon cover in a carton box to clean that black spot wich is responsable for the electric contact.

This should solve your problem.

The same can be done with all the other buttons.

good repairs,

Hi

That is true but we are finding that the period before the fault reoccurs is getting shorter and shorter which indicates a replacement might be a better route. We are also finding in a minority of cases that some just don't work no matter how much we clean the graphite contact area or re-calibrate (OK - bend) the spring.

Best
