Customer has VWIC-1MFT-T1 in router 28xx or 38xx and currently T1 is configured as PRI for voice. They would like to use 4 channels from this PRI for data and the rest are for voice. is this supported? Thanks

AFAIK, this cannot be done with one T1. You will need 2 T1s for this. This not only depends on the Router/T1 card, but even on the Provider. Does the Provider support this configuration ??

I think I saw the following commands before. But couldn't find a link anymore
controller T1 2/1
channel-group 10 timeslots 1-4 (data)
pri-group time slots 5-24 (voice)

This is possible with recent IOS:

You only configure PRI, no channel-group. The documentation describes the feature available for call preemption.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
