One way audio - CUCM > MGCP >PSTN > CME

Hi,

We are facing an issue where the calls made from site A (SFO) -- to site B --  Brazil are facing an issue of one way audio. The SF sites -- when calling gets no audio -- where as the Brazil users are all fine.

Call Flow  :  CUCM > MGCP >PSTN > CME

#debug voip rtp

#debug mgcp packets

#debug isdn q931 and DNA were done - but nothing conclusive came out.

Can you please confirm what are the other troubleshooting steps we can proceed with to resolve the issue -- have a ticket opened up with the carrier as well.

Appreciate some guidance on this.

-Abhishek Singh

Hi Abhishek,

I am going to assume that SFO has CUCM whereas Brazil has CME. When a call is up, could you hit the "?" and see if you can see packet counters incrementing? If it is, is there  a firewall doing RTP inspection, if so please disable that.

If packets are not incrementing and since there is a PSTN between SFO and Brazil, traffic should be flowing through the MGCP gateway. From the MGCP gateway, try pinging the IP address of the phone in SFO but source traffic from the interface on the gateway that is bound to MGCP.

The packets are flowing as we can see the Tx and Rx files properly .

Can you post the output of show call active voice brief for a call with no audio? Are normal PSTN calls working fine?
