one way audio with IP-to-IP gateway problem

I am in a situation where I have deployed a couple of callmanager clusters and have configured them to route calls with each other through two as5350 gateways, both running H323. one of the callmanagers is 4.1(3) and the other one 4.0. ringing happens correctly when dialing from either side and the phones ring. On the CM4.1 side when i pick up the handset to receive a call from the 4.0 side no sounds go through and the other phone on the 4.0 side keeps ringing and after a while it disconnects. this is not true on a call witch is made in reverse directions, every thing works great when calling from 4.1 side to 4.0 side.

Both gateways have the same IOS and are the configured exactly the same.

Any ideas??

thanks in advance

Hi,

Please make sure you have follow this link:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5640/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00806b0a0f.html#wp1295029

Could you please upload your CCM config (ICT) screenshots, IP2IP GW configuration and detailed CCM trace.

I have attached the images and the router config of the old and the new setup. what traces do you need?

Thanks in advance

Re: one way audio with IP-to-IP gateway problem

-Instead of an H323 GW, try it with an Intercluster trunk (ICT).

- In the AS, configure the following:

1. enable

2. configure terminal

3. voice service voip

4. h323

5. h225 h245-address {sync | facility | progress}

6. ccm-compatible

7. exit

Ok, after this we need detailed CCM traces from both clusters and debug h225 asn1 and debug h245 asn1 from IP2IP GWs involved.

Please include calling, called number and timestamp.

Re: one way audio with IP-to-IP gateway problem

The problem was solved when I disable the "Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set" on the old (4.0) CCM. any ideas?

Re: one way audio with IP-to-IP gateway problem

Unchecking "Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set" on the gateway configuration page in CCMAdmin.

This enables CCM to send TCS without waiting for the other side.

This is a known issue and is documented here:
