Orphaned RTP sessions

Hi,

We have enough resources ont he CISCO2811 router for transcoding. We have resources available to handle 30 calls but it does not take more then 16 calls.

The issue of not taking more then 16 calls is now a challenge. Here is the output of the ' sh voip rtp connec'

I see that there are some of the calls with callID as "-1" and no destination port number or ip address. I believe that these are the RTP sessions that are failing. Any guess about the cause of this?

Re: Orphaned RTP sessions

each call uses 2 transcoding resources one for each call leg, so if you have 30 sessions configured only 15 calls will use it. Can you post your config?

Orphaned RTP sessions

Well that does not sound correct. I had configured 16 sessions on dspfarm profile and I could see that 16 calls were transcoded without any problems. Now when I increased the resources and configured 32 channels, only 16 calls are getting through.

Moreover, this is not an issue with transcoder bcoz I can see that transcoding is taking place for all 32 calls but just the RTP is not correctly being established. Its evident that no RTP would succeed without proper destination IP Address and port.

Could someone please tell me what exactly dstCallId "-1" means?

Saif
