Outbound call failing with cause code 57

Hi,

our outbound calls to some numbers getting failed with cause code 57 and in ccsip messages i am getting 403 forbidden.

i tried to change the payload type to 97 which was 98 but no success.

the called number is 9-8955900

the calling number is 8062300

can any one help me..

the ccsip messages and ccapi inout debug is..

what is the region name configured for Trunks? are they using default region?

As per the RE_KHBR.PNG attachment, when the calls initiated from KHBR region to other sites, they will use G729 codec.

but for ITSP, the call should use G711A codec. to avoid this mismatch, we need to have Transcoders added to SIP Trunk MRGL in CUCM or change the region settings between KHBR_Region to Trunk Regions(?) to G711.

please let me know which one we can try for.

our setup is like

                                                            vpn link

call manager ------head office(router)----------------------------------brach router(gateway)------------------ip phone(branch)

The call flow is

                                                                                                              sip

IP Phone---->brach GW-------------->call manager------------------>branch GW------------------->ITSP

there is no subscriber at branch side, so the outbound call should travel to call manager at head office and then get exit from branch gateway to ITSP through sip line.

The call to ITSP uses G729 codec. so the call is disconnected with "Reason: Q.850;cause=57;text="bearer capability not authorized"

have you configured the region between the branch phone and the SIP trunk to use G729?

what is the codec supported by your ITSP? G711 or G729?

could you please try changing the device pool for one of the branch phones same as the SIP trunk device pool and check the behaviour please?

ITSP says its using 711alaw but the call is negotiating on 729.

yes the same device pool is being used as sip trunk on my phone but the call is getting failed. not all but only to few numbers.

it seems the calling device is CIPC. have you checked 'optimize for low bandwidth' in your CIPC?

if so, could you please uncheck it and try again?

when you make call from Head office phone (CIPC or IP phone) to same number, does the call still fail?

In RTMT, you may try using 'Relative Range - Files generated in last 5 mins' instead of 'Absolute range - From & To time stamp'

Also in outgoing dial-peer (dial-peer voice 20 voip) instead of 'voice-class codec 1', could you please try the command 'codec g711alaw' or create voice-class codec 2 only with G711 alaw codec under that and apply it to dial-peer 20?

do you have transcoder configured in CUCM SIP Trunk MRGL?

i was selecting 30 min range as there was no other call traffic, and i think you saw the call in call log trace doc

but not in SDI trace files, and today morning also i tried with that but unable to find the calls in trace.

i hard coded the codec g711alaw on dial-peer 20 yesterday, but still its negotiating on g729.

1) with g711alaw codec hardcoded to dial-peer, could you please collect 'debug ccsip message & debug voice ccapi inout' for a test call again? please provide the cube config also.

2) but it is good to have ccm trace to find out why the branch site calls are using g729 codec. beyond region settings, i couldn't think of any other clues. could you please reconfigure a branch phone with 'HQ devicepool and test the behaviour?

if that doesn't work, collect another set of debug for that call also.

please let me know the calling & called party details while uploading the logs for those 2 set of test calls

ok i will hard code the codec and collect the debugs after work hours, as it is now in production.

i configured a branch phone as HQ phone and tested that its working fine. but with the branch device pool its not working.

can we configure toll bypass for the specific number to get exit from head office sip line because they have to call the number many times.

i tried that but failed.

what is the region name configured for Trunks? are they using default region?

As per the RE_KHBR.PNG attachment, when the calls initiated from KHBR region to other sites, they will use G729 codec.

but for ITSP, the call should use G711A codec. to avoid this mismatch, we need to have Transcoders added to SIP Trunk MRGL in CUCM or change the region settings between KHBR_Region to Trunk Regions(?) to G711.

now changed the codec between the branch and head office from g.729 to g.711 and its working.
