outgoing calls to pstn not working

Hi,

We are having a ccm setup with 4.1(3) with mgcp gateway. We are not able to make the calls to PSTN. But incoming calls from PSTN is working. I am getting requested circuit/channel not available error message in the debug as mentioned below.

VG#debug isdn q931

debug isdn q931 is ON.

VG#

Cause i = 0x82AC - Requested circuit/channel not available

Display i = 'REQUESTED CHANNEL NOT AVAILABLE'

Checked all the troubleshooting logs. In all of them it was mentioned that it is a temporary problem.

Please let me know the solution if anybody has solved this problem.

Krishna.

Re: outgoing calls to pstn not working

Krishna,

Try to add this command in the ISDN Serial interface:

isdn bchan-number-order ascending

Try to use 'ascending' ot 'descending'.

Hope this helps,

Juan Luis

Good catch. I was obviously very confused about "international standards" :)

Re: outgoing calls to pstn not working

Hi,

possibly "isdn negotiate-bchan" could help.

Starting from 1 (ascending) is OK, that is the international standard.

Another possibility is that the switch has not been provisioned correctly, is this a new circuit ?

Finally, you may want either indicate the main number as calling, or the extensions. How to do that, depends if you are using CME or CM, MGCP or H.323.
