packet capture of voice traffic

All,

I have a pc connected to a Cisco 7960 phone. I am running wireshark on my pc's NIC, when I make a call through the Cisco 7960 phone, I can see all voice packets capture on my pc.

Am I supposed to get the voice captures on my pc. What I mean is, the voice traffic is between the phone and CM/gateway, why do I see it on my pc connected to the phone?

Thanks,

The 7940/60s do this automatically as a feature. It's called 'SPAN To PC Port'. On newer phones it's disabled by default, but can still be enabled. It's for ease of troubleshooting.
