Permanent tone on vg224 when analog phone goes offhook

Hi,

i have here a strange behavior on a cisco vg224.

On all sccp ports, when you go offhook, you here a permanent tone, instead of the dial tone.

Devices are registered to the callmanager and can do a phonecall.

show version:

Cisco IOS Software, vg224 Software (vg224-I6K9S-M), Version 15.1(3)T4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

System image file is "slot0:vg224-i6k9s-mz.151-3.T4.bin"

config:

voice-port 2/4

no supervisory disconnect lcfo

no battery-reversal

no echo-cancel enable

no vad

playout-delay fax 40

no comfort-noise

cptone DE

timeouts ringing infinity

bearer-cap 3100Hz

caller-id enable

!

dial-peer voice 204 pots

no tone dialtone remote-onhook

tone busytone remote-onhook

service stcapp

port 2/4

I tried it with and without this commands. I tried the solution from this cisco document; but it did not fix it:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00805552e9.shtml

voice-port 2/4

no supervisory disconnect lcfo

no battery-reversal

!

dial-peer voice 204 pots

no tone dialtone remote-onhook

tone busytone remote-onhook

Permanent tone on vg224 when analog phone goes offhook

Michael,

Dialtone is managed by the network locale on the cucm page for that analog sccp endpoint..

Or you can directly change it (cptone) under voice-port like this..

voice-port 2/4

cptone ca   >>> ca is for canada..

please try this change and let me know the result.

Regards,

Re: Permanent tone on vg224 when analog phone goes offhook

Hi,

i went throug some Cisco TAC Cases and the answer is, it is a bug and only workarounds are available till now:

Workaround for wrong dialtone (priviliged commands)

test voice tone DE dialtone 1 425 0 -200 -200 -240 0 0 0 200 300 200 300 200 800 0 0

test voice tone DE 2nd_dialtone 1 425 0 -200 -200 -240 0 0 0 200 300 200 300 200 800 0 0

Script for activating the priviliged commands after reboot:

event manager applet dialtone

event syslog pattern "%SYS-5-RESTART"

action 1.0 syslog msg "custom dailtone"

action 2.0 cli command "enable"

action 3.0 cli command "test voice tone DE dialtone 1 425 0 -200 -200 -240 0 0 0 200 300 200 300 200 800 0 0"

action 4.0 cli command "test voice tone DE 2nd_dialtone 1 425 0 -200 -200 -240 0 0 0 200 300 200 300 200 800 0 0"

action 5.0 syslog msg "Custom dialtone for DE configured"

The command to check the corresponding frequencies is:

test voice tone DE show

If you have issues with fax machines, this second workaround can help:

conf t

voice-port 2/xx

no cptone DE
