Phone call quality issues

Hello - We have been getting reports of general poor quality phone calls and I need some assistance in figuring out what can be done to resolve the issues. I have had reports of occassional 'tinnyness' and folks stating that it sounds like they are underwater. I have also had reports of placing calls on hold and not being able to retrieve them which I read somewhere that it could be related to poor voice quality. I have gone through the settings on our call manager servers and all of the settings are set to the suggested values. I'm really just looking for suggestions as to where I should start looking to make modifications to improve the voice call quality so if anyone has any I would like to hear them. Thanks

You need to isolate the problem, to first PSTN or internal calls, gateway, site, phone model firmware, load, topology,...timeo fthe day...
