Phone designer and CM Upgrade

Will the background images done through Phone Designer stay on the phone if the CUCM is upgraded?  I remember reading somewhere that the images are part of the phone, so I would assume it would stay, but I'm looking for verification.

Yes, once the image is loaded onto the phone it's not different if you had done it manually on the phone from the List.xml.

Thanks for the quick response, but perhaps Im not asking the right question.  If the phone is currently using CUCM6, and , the CUCM is upgraded to v9, will the phone lose its background?

No, they will stay there until you do a factory reset or change the image.
