Phones restarting

Hello.

I have a strange issue with ucm 8.6.

Cisco phones (sip firmware) restarting in a few seconds after call established.

It happens during any type of calls, onnet and offnet. I have attached sdl trace.

Any ideas what can be wrong?

Phone types are: 7906, 7911, 7942, 6921.

Firmwares are: SIP11.9-2-1S, SIP42.9-2-1S, SIP69xx.9-2-1-0

cucm version is: 8.6.2.10000-14

We have updated our cucm to version 8.6.2.20000, but problem still remains.

Any other ideas?

Hi Dmitry,

Can you check the following:

Does the phone reset or does it restart completely?

Any errors on the switchport?

Is the issue specific to a site or a specific model of phones?

Do we have the detailed callmanager traces for a call that experienced the issue?

Hello Manish,

The phone resets to Cisco logo, configure ip and re-register on the server.

No errors on switchport.

We have single node on vmware esxi. The issue observed on any phone (7906, 7942 and others).

I have attached trace logs. Last call was made around 10:22, phone name SEP002155D45D52

Hi Dmitry,

Can you share the calling , called party detail and also the approximate duration after which the phone reset during the active call? This will save me some time in looking through the trace.

Calling number is 2400. Called number is 989218945054.

Call started at: 10:22:05.262 27.10.2014

Ended at: 10:23:08.144 27.10.2014

Phone reseted after a few seconds. 5-7 seconds.

I see the phone unregistering with Reason code 13

Reason code 13 is in general network related connectivity issues and specifically it points to TCP keepalive timeout between IP{ phone and cucm.
