Problem between ATA, FAX, and CME

Hi,

i have a problem with that device. I have a CME with a FAX connected to an ATA. If i make a call to the fax all it's ok because the fax answer the call, but if another fax try to send a document to my fax behind the ata, it can not receive the fax. What can be the problem?

Are you using H323 or SCCP ?

Never tried SCCP with newer versions of CME (4.x). Newer CME version documentation seems to claim that faxing is supported with ATAs using SCCP. In the past with older CME versions, SCCP with ATA for faxing was not supported and didnt work as you expect it to.

I have always used H323 with ATAs, which means you have to remove the ATA as an ephone and create a voip dial-peer to send the fax calls to ATA. You will also need to convert the ATA image to H323.

Also make sure you disable fax relay on the dial-peer and setup fax passthrough.

Indead, in a CME environment you can better use a H323 ATA
