PSTN PRI UP but not the D channel or B channels

Can someone let me know what the following Q921 is saying on the RRp and the RRf. I believe that the SABMEp is stating no D channel or believe you might call it layer 2 not seeing any response.

*Jul 1 16:05:51.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: User TX -> SABMEp sapi=0 tei=0

*Jul 1 16:05:57.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: L2_EstablishDataLink: sending SABME

*Jul 1 16:05:57.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: User TX -> SABMEp sapi=0 tei=0

*Jul 1 16:05:58.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: User TX -> SABMEp sapi=0 tei=0

*Jul 1 16:05:58.875: ISDN Se0/1/0:23 Q921: User TX -> RRp sapi=0 tei=0 nr=23

*Jul 1 16:05:58.879: ISDN Se0/1/0:23 Q921: User RX <- RRf sapi=0 tei=0 nr=23

*Jul 1 16:05:59.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: User TX -> SABMEp sapi=0 tei=0

*Jul 1 16:06:00.639: ISDN Se0/0/1:23 Q921: User TX -> SABMEp sapi=0 tei=0

Of course telco thinks it is the gateway but I installed two PRI's at the same time the other is working fine.

Thanks, Melinda

Hi,

Yes you getting some response

*Jul 1 16:05:58.879: ISDN Se0/1/0:23 Q921: User RX <- RRf sapi=0 tei=0 nr=23

but not the right one to initialize L2.

As you noted, telco can be very insistent to claim "no problem", at which point the only effective solution can be to invite them on premises with a portable call generator to check themselves.

Please rate post if it helps!

PRI's are now up. It took them 3 hours to find the problem and rebuild on the telco side.

Thank you,

Melinda

This happens all the time.

Thanks for the appreciation and good luck!

I sure am getting to like this NetPro.

Thanks again,

Melinda
