Hi
if i have a callmanager cluster of 2 7835 MCS servers, one Pub and on Sub, then this cluster can support up to 2500 IP Phones, my question:
both Pub and Sub will be participating in call processing for a total of 1400 IP phones, now is there any limitation that the 7835 publisher server in this case can support only up to 1000 ip phones if the Sub fails?
please advise and if there is any reference i would be thankful.
Thanks

Hi UC,
The 7835 should support this number of users without issue :)
I just looked this up the other day;
Cisco MCS 7845 (All supported models)
Maximum Users per Server 7500
Cisco MCS 7835 (All supported models)
Maximum Users per Server 2500
Cisco MCS 7825 (All supported models)
Maximum Users per Server 1000
Cisco MCS 7815 or MCS 7816 (All supported models)3
Maximum Users per Server 300
From this excellent SRND 6.x Guide;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/6x/callpros.html#wp1043871
Hope this helps!

Rob, thanks for your response,
i found this in the link u sent me:
(MCS 7815 and MCS 7816 servers support only 1+1 redundancy (maximum of 2 servers) and cannot be a member of a cluster containing other servers. )
does this mean i can not have a cluster of two 7835 servers and one 7816 server ?

Hi UC,
You are most correct my friend :) The 7816 would not be supported in this configuration.
Hope this helps!

technically what exactly would make it not working in this scenario, will it give an error when you add 7816 server as a CCM subscriber to a 7835 cluster
so in general, does the publisher check the hardware of the subscriber whn add it ?
