In our environment we have a publisher and 3 subs. Our publisher recently went down and there are no backups. All resources are running on the subs. If we rebuild our publisher won't it replicate a blank database to all the subs, thus rendering all devices useless. Is there anyway that can pull a copy of the DB from a sub to put it back on the pub?
or are my options:
1) Resign and hide
2) Cisco has some way to do this that only TAC can perform
3) complete rebuild

Unfortunately, having no backups is certainly not a pleasant situation to be faced with.
What version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) is being used?
I believe CUCM version 8.0 may have a script that the TAC can use to do this (see CSCtl03109). However, prior to version 8.0, I am not aware of any means to do this.
Further, CUCM version 8.5 now has a GUI and CLI option to restore the database to a Publisher from a Subscriber node:

Thanks for sharing this important info about the "added" ability to
restore the database to a Publisher from a Subscriber node +5
This has been a highly sought after feature that has been a long time coming
I had not seen this fine, fine update!
